"Many heroic exploits and chivalrous adventures are related to me which exist only in the regions of fancy. With me the world has taken great liberties, and yet I have been but a common man." ....Daniel Boone

I am no longer offering these books for sale. They are being donated, for the purpose of selling copies to the public, to the historical society at which time I will post information here on how you may purchase them.

This is a two volume set containing 1069 pages with index, maps, and about 50 pages of photographs of people and places around the county from the 1930s time period.

This set also contains Enumeration District Maps -- a feature not usually available with census books. The maps can be invaluable to researchers in locating families. You may be able to find where your relative lived - right down to the street or road address. These maps represent many many hours of work as it was necessary to construct them from National Archives records to fit the needs of those who will be using the books.

The two volumes are indexed separately so that you don't have to have both volumes at hand to use the index.

Another very helpful feature is the addition of district information at the bottom of every page of the census - you will know which district you are looking at on every page without having to search backwards to find it. Every census page also includes a numbered table which explains the information in each column of the census - everything you need is on each page.

In addition to the census, the books contain several articles and other features of historical and genealogical interest. Please take a look at the pictures below and again, feel free to email me with any questions you might have.

The largest populated towns of Corbin and Williamsburg are at least partially represented in both volumes due to concentrated population in those areas.

Volume I covers Enumeration Districts 1 through 10. This is primarily Williamsburg City, the area north and east of Williamsburg to the Knox County line, and the area west of Williamsburg to the McCreary County line, ending near Cumberland Falls on the north end and the Tennessee border on the south end.

Volume II covers Enumeration Districts 11 through 25. They are in the north end of the county both east and west and including the city of Corbin, ending on the southern edge near Buffalo. The districts then take in the southeastern quarter of the county from the Dixie Highway over to the Bell and Knox County line.

Together the two volumes encompass the population of the entire county in 1930.
