Map of Davie County, N. Carolina
Showing Original Land Grants
Map by Andrew Lagle, 1976
Deed Research by Pink Tatum
Squire Boone's land in North Carolina was in what is now Davie County. Davie County was formed from Rowan County in 1836. Rowan came from Anson County in 1753 and Anson from Bladen County in 1750.
Squire Boone's land grants, dated 1753, in the Yadkin River area of present Davie County can be seen in the upper center of the map surrounded by other land holders (grantees) of the county. Many settlers were here long before these land grants were made and patented. Perhaps your ancestor was a neighbor of the Boones.
