"Many
heroic exploits and chivalrous adventures are related to me
which exist only in the regions of fancy. With me the world has
taken great liberties, and yet I have been but a common man." ....Daniel Boone

Sources & additional information: This cemetery was copied onsite by me (Margy Miles), on 7 October 1992.
This cemetery is located very near my house. The listings shown here include stones that I
have unearthed to date. There are possibly more still hidden.
I have listed the stones as they appear with quotation marks around quotes directly from
the stones. The information in brackets [ ] was added by me to help researchers with
identification of those buried here. Please contact me with any questions or information to
add.
I do plan to add more data and pictures.
The street was named by me as "Lamme Lane," however when the county installed the street
sign, it said "Lamme Road." It is not really a 'road' per say but rather just a small lane. I have not
attempted to have the mistake corrected as yet.
I have tried for several years to get help to have this historic little
cemetery restored and protected, so far to no avail. It is my hope to garner enough interest from
Boone descendants to eventually accomplish that, in the way the the gravesite of Edward Boone
has been restored and marked in Kentucky. If you are interested in helping me to make this happen, please contact me. I would like to see all the headstones reinstalled (most of them are lying on the ground now) and the little cemetery fenced in with a nice gate and a dedication plaque or monument of some sort. I have brought the president of the local DAR to look at the cemetery and they were interested in helping but they are unable to commit for lack of funding. Other Boone related groups have so far not been able to help either. I am willing to lead an effort to have this done if enough Boone descendants are interested enough to get involved. I may not always live here and I worry what will happen to the cemetery when no one is here to care, as was the case before I moved here.
Update: On 23 December 2002, I received a visit from two very nice gentlemen, Mr. Marc Houseman and Mr. Bob Dohrer, who work with the Washington Historical Society of Washington, MO. They are sincerely interested in helping me with the restoration of this historical little cemetery. Soon we hope to get started putting together a plan of action. We are willing to put in the hours of physical labor but we need funding to do this right. Please, if you are a Boone descendant, consider donating to this worthy cause when the time comes. I will keep you posted but we will need to organize a fund drive in order to finance this project. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
ALSO since I put this page online, THE BOONE SOCIETY has expressed their desire to help renovate and restore this cemetery where everyone is a grandchild of Daniel Boone. Thank you Boone Society!
