"Many heroic exploits and chivalrous adventures are related to me which exist only in the regions of fancy. With me the world has taken great liberties, and yet I have been but a common man." ....Daniel Boone

I want you to enjoy this website and I hope you learn something about Daniel Boone and his family here. However, as disheartening as it seems, I have been forced to enact certain measures, by those who have stolen my work, which took many years, by copying and pasting it to other websites in a matter of seconds - even removing my name and inserting their own. This is not only highly unethical - it is also illegal.

Unless a website clearly states that the material contained on it is free for the taking - it is not. You must obtain permission before copying from any website on the internet. That is the law. Theft and plaigerism have become so rampant online that prosecutions for these offenses have been made much simpler and are rapidly occurring now on a daily basis. Punishments involve huge fines and / or jailtime with the offender being responsible for all costs involved. Protect yourself by not stealing or plaigerizing the work of others.

Note: One individual made a practice of visiting this website and copying my writings. This person then visited dozens of free sites and republished my writings under his/her own name. Legal steps are now being taken to stop this thief-plaigerist. This is not the only site this individual has done this with. If you have a historical or genealogical website, yours may be another one. Email me and I can show you where he/she has published as many as 447 stolen articles under his/her own name on just one single website. This person profiles himself/herself as a "researcher." A researcher does his own work - he does not steal from others. There is a world of difference between a "researcher" and a "thief."

None of the work on this site may be copied and republished in any form, either electronically, by printed copy or by any other means. If you like it and want to share it with others,

Remember, online theft hurts all of us, including the thief. Much more reliable historical and genealogical information would be available to us if not for the thiefs. Many authors and legitimate researchers have stopped sharing online because they have been victimized by content thiefs. The person thinking of copying from the work of others should realize that sooner or later he will be caught and the cost to him will be extreme. Don't take the chance.
