PRIVACY POLICY

Privacy rights of individuals will be respected and maintained on this web site. It is the policy of the web site owner to never publish information on living people. Often a Boone descendant asks to have his or her line posted on this web site. The web site administrator is usually happy to do that if the information appears to be correct and well documented but will stop short of providing private family information about living members of that line. Names and email addresses of contributors will only be posted if they request or permit it.

Whenever possible, I use BUFFER ZONES on any published family lines. Buffer zones provide at least a 2 generation gap between older generations and the living. This provides a more reliable measure of safety and protection for the living. I do not want my family's privacy and safety compromised and I will not compromise yours.

All of us in genealogy who care enough about our families to want to learn about them, need to remember to care enough about them to protect their rights to family privacy.
